Ginger wine is a popular drink served traditionally in households in Scotland and the north east of England at Christmas and Hogmanay. It is a perfect winter drink ideal for those wanting something festive without alcohol but tastes equally well with a drop of whiskey. Ginger is also very beneficial for digestion and can help with nausea.

Makes up to a nice ginger wine bringing back childhood memories. Used half a blackcurrant jelly in each mix just like granny used to.

Fantastic Ginger Wine Essence - Fantastic Service!

Used this essence for a few years now, in my opinion the best I have tried in 50 years. Rich, warm taste that gives way to a lovely, smooth after-taste that is eesential for my family Christmas celebrations. I made an error this year with my order (completely my fault) but Anna was outstanding and went above and beyond to ensure I had my delivery in time for Christmas. Top class service and one very happy customer!

Ginger wine base

Delicious and so easy to make. We adjusted the recipe and really enjoy it hot with lemon slices or brandy !


To make your ginger drink, add 907g (2lb) of sugar or sweetener of your choice to 2.8 litres (5 pints) of water and boil to dissolve.  Allow to cool, then add all of the Ginger Compound and stir.

Water, Citric Acid, Caramel, Polyoxyethylene (20) Sorbitan, Monolaurate/Polysorbate 20, Ginger Essential Oil - Zingiber Officionale, Capsicum Oleoresin 6%.

Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

For UK orders £20 and over, we offer FREE 2nd Class delivery, with Royal Mail. 

Orders under £20 are posted Royal Mail 2nd Class delivery, at a cost of £3.95.

All International deliveries have a standard charge from £23.00, delivery times will vary from country to country.

Please note deliveries outside of the UK may incur import duty costs.
